Eleanor Doughty

Eleanor Doughty is a Seattle-based illustrator, painter, and urban sketcher originally from the Washington, D.C. area (USA). Her mixed media work captures realistic subjects and imbues them with significance and character.

Inspired by artists from Charley Harper to Masaaki Yuasa, “Eleanor is known for her lighthearted, nostalgic style and her use of soft color palettes and mixed media. Her style is bold and energetic, seeking clarity and visual impact in her drawings.” – David Yerga of Gallery Moderno (Madrid, Spain)

Eleanor has traveled internationally to teach art and to explore new locations through her practice of on location sketching. She has taught at three international Urban Sketchers symposiums since 2019 (Amsterdam, Auckland, and Buenos Aires) and at SketcherFest in Edmonds, WA in 2023 and 2024.

Outside of urban sketching, Eleanor is a freelance illustrator. Specializing in large format works up to two stories tall, she has been commissioned by clients including Hilton, Kroger, Marriott, and Microsoft. Her Young Readers graphic novel, K’s Car Can Go Anywhere!, was published by Penguin/Random House in 2022.
